3D website explaining Tomtemaskinen

I got caught up by The Mechanical Santa from the childrens' book about Pettson and Findus. I noticed it was really well thought-through and I just had to understand how it was supposed to work. Some research took me to an old attic where I found the machine of the TV-series based on the book. After a lot of work I managed to get a grasp of it all.

I made the web site tomtemaskinen.com where I explain it all, using an animated 3D-model that the user may explore.

Because the stories take place sometimes during the 40's of 50's, I found it fitting to use a style reminding of old drawings from magazines like Popular Mechanics. To make that happen, I had to develop my own 3D-shader to render it.
